The Next Or Current Seminar Details Will Always Be Displayed First

The BCG Seminar Schedule is approved by a majority of the members of Bankers' Compliance Group®. Scheduling of these seminars is subject to change without further approval. Generally, we expect most of these seminars will run all day in length. An announcement will be sent to all BCG members during the last week of each month regarding the subsequent month's seminars.

Loan Participations in Challenging Economic Times
In today's challenging economic environment, a poorly structured loan participation can have adverse effects on both the lead lender and the participant. As the number of troubled loans grows, participants and lead lenders must work together in determining the best course of action that will maximize the chances of successfully collecting each loan and avoiding losses. Often the participant’s involvement in choosing a course of action in connection with a troubled loan will be dictated by the terms of the participation agreement or by the financial condition of the lead lender.

With this in mind, Aldrich and Bonnefin is pleased to invite you and your commercial lending staff to a seminar that covers the fundamentals of loan participations, as well as a checklist for the review of the form of participation agreement both as an initial matter and in the face of a troubled loan. This seminar will also provide an excellent opportunity for networking by lenders seeking participants and lenders seeking to purchase loan participations.

Key Speaker(s):
ERIC G. BARON, ESQ.
-  Mr. Baron, a principal of Aldrich & Bonnefin, has been serving Bankers’ Compliance Group members for over 17 years. Mr. Baron specializes in loan participations, loan syndications, commercial and real estate lending, commercial loan workouts, letter of credit transactions, environmental law, bankruptcy issues and employment law matters. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Baron worked as a commercial loan officer with a regional bank in Washington D.C.

Doing Business With Family Trusts

Aldrich & Bonnefin, P.L.C. is pleased to invite your lending, operations and compliance staffs to a Special Training Seminar on "Doing Business With Family Trusts." Family trusts, once the exclusive preserve of the wealthy, have become commonplace. As a result, financial institutions face questions every day on how to deal with trusts and trustees. Trusts are remarkably flexible vehicles, with the result that very few hard-and-fast rules exist. We will address both lending and operational issues. This interesting and fast-paced half-day seminar is presented by Robert Olsen, a principal with the law firm. He will share many practical examples. Materials distributed will include a detailed outline, including a form of Certification of Trust. Some degree of banking experience will be assumed.

Key Speaker(s):

ROBERT K. OLSEN, ESQ. - A principal of Aldrich & Bonnefin, specializes in consumer financial services, privacy and other regulatory compliance. Mr. Olsen, who has practiced law for 24 years, joined Aldrich & Bonnefin in 1996 and previously practiced banking law with Morrison & Foerster.
